The first draft of the revision on Meant To Be is done! In doing so, one major character – Ken – was almost cut but became a very small support role. The three main characters are now more defined, I tried to give them speech patterns and movements in sync with their role. Also, I cut, a lot. The story before the revision was 117,000 words. Far too many. I got it down to 85,000 words on the first draft, a more reasonable count.
The goal is to have this completed by June 1, so we’re going right into 2nd draft. I know there’s a lot of work needed to clean up the mess the 1st draft caused.
