Lonn Braender

About me? Now that’s a question that could take pages and pages to answer! Besides, aren’t we all a little fluid depending on the situation, and don’t we all change over time? So about me? I’ll need to think about that.

About this site, that’s a lot easier. I’m hoping to showcase my writing – check out the Scrivenings pages for the short stories and novels that are completed, stories that are still in the draft stage, and the page of my published works. There are excerpts and or synopses of most completed works as well.

My husband and I have a place in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. We rent it to family and friends. We prefer not to rent to people we don’t know, so you won’t find it on Airbnb. We like that we don’t have to put all our stuff away when people use the place. It’s a beautiful home in a close-knit community. So one day soon, there will be a page with pictures and information about the beach house.

The Blog page will be mostly about writing and mostly about the current works in process. It is, after all, the reason I started this site. I hope to add more to the other categories such as Things I Know, Art, and maybe a recipe or two. I enjoy cooking and have a few recipes to share. My goal is to have a monthly update about my creative life.

Another goal is to start painting again, hopefully in the next year or so. I’ll include the paintings here as well. I should probably change the blog page title from “My Posts” to “My Creative”.

“La Père Noël” is a private page. It’s a family place where we have our Christmas wish lists, the annual Christmas poems, and such. You’ll need a password to access that page which is what my nieces and nephews called me as kids – two words, with caps, no spaces.

So, about me, you’re welcome to ask. At this moment, I’m a husband, brother, son, uncle, cousin, friend, lover, colleague, sounding board, listener, questioner, speaker, advisor, cook, chef, dishwasher, housekeeper, chauffeur, businessman, employee, salesperson, shopper, investor, confidant, gardener, caregiver, athlete, dancer, designer, painter, artist, and now writer.

I guess, like most, I’m a work in progress.

Thanks for visiting my website.

Here is a bio from one of my stories. It’s short like a jacket flap copy should be.

Lonn Braender is a Jersey-born artist, printer, businessman, and writer. Lonn was a painter of landscapes and seascapes for more than twenty-five years, but due to life changes, he stumbled into an alternative creative outlet—writing, which has become his passion. Lonn has written dozens of works of varying lengths. He had his first short story published in the 2016 Rehoboth Reads anthology, Beach Nights, for which he was given a Judges Merit award. He went on to be published six more times in: Beach Life, Beach Love, Beach Fun (in which his story won Third Place), Sandy Paws, Beach Secrets, and Beach Holidays all published by Cat & Mouse Press.

This story, Beach Misses, is based on a secret plot to make the story come true. He wants to publish his own book of short stories that are good but didn’t make the cut in any of the Rehoboth Reads anthologies

Lonn lives and writes in Bucks County, PA, and Rehoboth Beach, DE with his muse and husband, Bruce. He has also completed a novel called Meant To Be which he continues to submit to publishers and agents – searching for the right fit.
